Winter Storage No No

This winter has brought icy cold winds and temperatures to Virginia. If your items are stored in a climate controlled unit, your valuables are being stored at a set warm temperature range. Those renting a standard unit need to avoid storing items that can be easily damaged from the cold winter weather.

The following are items to NOT store in your standard unit this winter:

Electronics– laptop and cellphone batteries can lose their charge faster than normal due to storage in frigid temperatures. Televisions and computers with LCD screens could also be damaged if the temperature drops below freezing.

Canned foods and beverages– these two items could explode if left in below freezing temperatures. This potentially big mess could attract bugs and animals to your unit.

If you are not sure about how to store your items this winter, consider purchasing a climate controlled unit to avoid any damage to your items due to the cold temperatures this winter.
